April 2010

Jazdan De Angelo has been purchased by John Francis of Wilga park, Angelo is the third horse purchased by John and Steev. Jazdan Dark Knight ( who scored Premium and stallion prospect in the 2009 ACE assessments with a score of 81.5%  and also won his class at the 2009 AWHA gala day and who was also the highest scoring foal/horse on the day) and Jazdan Don Monaco.

We wish them all the best and hope to see them out and about in the future.

March 2010

This year we have three mares back in foal at Jazdan Park.  Allenamor (Lacryma Cristi/Town Line)TB mare who is the dam Jazdan Dark Knight who was the highest scoring foal/horse at the 2009 AWHA gala day. She is now safely back in foal to Lord Sinclair who is a Two-time German Young Horse Champion, winner of the Stallion Performance Test, Prix St. George winner and Main Premium Champion in Oldenburg are his incomparable references to date.

Cloverfern Hannah (Heini/ Valtimo) is in foal to the imported stallion Royal Hit (Royal Dance / Loretta)

Jazdan Heiress (His Highness/ Cloverfern Hannah) is in foal to San Amour (Sandro Hit x Plaisir d'Amour). This is a double frozen semen foal out of one of only a few daughters of His Highness in Australia, he is now deceased and his semen is no longer available. This cross is going to be very exciting and I am eagerly awaiting the foals arrival in early September.

ACE assessments were a great success here at Jazdan Park with Jazdan Devotion [photo bottom left]  (De Niro/ Jazdan Landers Dream) scoring ELITE status with 81% receiving the comments "Elegant type, long legged, good conformation, always uphill. All movements are very engaged". Jazdan Senorita [photo bottom right] (Sunny Boy/ Jazdan Grace Kavalier) scoring 76.75 and just missing out on premium also received some lovely comments.

December 2009

FINALLY I have my De Niro filly... At long last after a heart wrenching journey trying since 2005 to get this filly on the ground I finally have her and she is better than I could have dreamed of.

In 2005 I put my big mare in foal to De Niro (my first attempt at frozen semen). Four weeks before she was due to foal she was having colic symptoms and after the home vet was out of resources we took her over to Goulburn Valley. We arrived quite late that night and when we got there with Gem in distress her stomach was scanned and the foal was still alive.

We left her there for monitoring and within 3 days Gem's stomach muscles were splitting open. I was given 3 options, option 1 was to put the mare down to save costs, option 2 was to give the mare a C section and get the foal out and put the mare down and option 3 was to slowly induce the mare so the foals lungs had a little longer to develop and try and save both mare and foal - naturally I chose option 3. Gem had to wear a sling to hold her stomach up. She then ended up with severe diarrhoea and was put on an IV with fluids. After an agonising 8 days at the clinic I received a call to tell me Gem had foaled a dead filly, and an hour later I received another call to tell me Gem had died of a ventral rupture. It was the most horrific thing I had ever been through!!

I then decided to put 2 mares back in foal to De Niro and in 2007 there were 2 De Niro colts born, I decided to try again that year and put both mares back in foal to De Niro, and in 2008 another 2 De Niro colts were born, at that point I thought I was never going to get that filly on the ground but I did try again and put both mares back in foal to De Niro, unfortunately one mare lost her foal and Jazdan Landers Dream finally gave me my filly. I named her Jazdan Devotion ( It took all my Devotion to get her)

APRIL 2009
The recent AWHA Gala day show at Werribee was a huge success for us here at Jazdan Park, with both our colts Jazdan Dark Knight and Jazdan Déjà vu both winning their classes. They were exceptionally well behaved throughout the entire day although it was such a long, tiring trip for them to get there and hen back home. Jazdan Dark Knight was also the Highest scoring horse on the day which is a wonderful achievement.

ACE ASSESSMENTS FOR 2009

Thankfully for us the ACE group visited us on farm this year to assess our babies, we unfortunately could not have our only filly for the last 2 seasons Jazdan Standing Ovation assessed as she was still recovering from a broken pedal bone. Jazdan Dark Knight received some excellent comments from Mr Gerd Küst such as " Nice faced, long legs, always uphill with excellent movements" and he was rated as a Stallion Prospect and scored an overall 81.5%.

Jazdan Déjà vu scored overall 79.25% with 83.5% being for conformation, he also received some lovely comments on the day, and lastly Jazdan Skywalker scored 74.25% overall. We were very happy with how our boys scored and we are looking forward to having ACE back next season to assess our new arrivals as well as the rising 3yo colts.

June 2008

Jazdan Rhythmic Encounter

Jazdan Rhythmic Encounter (Maestro) found a fabulous new home with Elaine Small from QLD, Elaine and her husband flew over to meet Maestro and Elaine fell in love with him instantly. I could not be happier to find such a loving, caring competition and pleasure home for such a lovely nautred gentleman. Elaine sent Maestro over to The Australian Equine Behavioural Centre for breaking, and from all reports everyone was extremely happy to work with him and found him a pleasure. I drove over on the 12th June and met up with Elaine who had flown over from QLD again to work with Maestro at the end of his breaking process, and I took these photo's.

Maestro is now home in sunny QLD and is about to take a small spell before starting work towards his new career.
